Equipment Routing

Obtaining decent equipment is required for smooth leveling. Luckily, kRO provides many free/easily obtainable options along the way. You will take advantage of quests, episodial content, and memorial dungeons to gear up.

This guide is mainly for new players' first character.

Level 1~99

At this level range, Eden Equipment is more than enough to get you to 99. Anything additional is more of a luxury. If you are in need of accessories, you can do the Malangdo Island Quest. This quest rewards you with 400 E Class coins which you can buy 2 Cat Hand Glove[1]. Right now, you should just focus on leveling while generating income to progress at later levels by utilizing the zeny guide. You do not want to level too fast that you cannot sustain consumables required.

Also, you should immediately start City Investment to get Union Gears

Accessory Cat's Hand Glove [1]
  • You can obtain Cat's Hand Glove [1] for 32 E-Coins (/navi malangdo 172/140)
  • Later on for other characters, you can obtain some EXP equipment to level quicker.
  • Hunting Arrows can be purchased from major tool dealers.

Level 100~120

Once you hit level 100, check your achievements for the “100 Beginner's Box”. This contains Beginner's Gear that has a set bonus that grants a chance to recover HP/SP and a decent weapon. You will get a +7 refine certificate for your Beginner weapon in the level 110 box and a Beginner's Shadow Equipment set in the level 120 box. You can view the Beginner's equipment.

Alternatively, you can start the Banquet of Heroes quest (16.1) to obtain Noblesse Gears. These gears are essentially free after completing the quest and comes with +9 certificates for the extra bonuses they give. Each job has 2 set options depending on their build preference. Noblesse gear is particularly useful because it also reduces fix casting time by the same rate as Temporal Boots (0.5 Seconds) if you are a caster.

You should also start running Beginner Old Glast Heim Instance to obtain some time crystals (or just buy 6) to make Temporal Boots if it suits your build. It doesn't have to be perfectly enchant or enchanted at all such as Temporal Luk Boots for critical damage or Temporal Dex Boots for fix casting time reduction.

  • Even though Mora Gears can be obtained now, it is hard to complete the quest. You can buy some of the gears fairly cheap if you choose this option.

Level 120~150

This level range is where equipment starts to specialize. You should still be able to level just fine with the gears listed in the previous section, but start to think about upgrading your weapon. At level 120, you can do Ghost Palace instance for Thanatos weapons if your class requires additional HP/SP leeches. On kRO, you can enchant Thanatos weapons for additional effects.

You can now feasibly do the Hazy Forest Quest to start converting Mora Coins to Mora Gear. Only few classes should use this option such as full support priest or Ranger.

Also, if you are a Mechanic, you should run King's Heel instance a couple of times to grab yourself very useful equipment.

Ultimately, stick to your Noblesse set, do your 17.1 quest line, and focus on getting zeny for weapons later on.

  • Not recommended to bother getting Imperial set since the upgrade from Noblesse set is minor.
  • Hair Brush is obtained /navi comodo 236/164 after trading: 1 Mixture, 1 Scarlet Dyestuffs, 50 Solid Shell, 5 Elunium, 1 Axe [4]

Level 150~200

At 150, you can use the Grace Set which is the last “free” gear you can easily obtain. This will carry you to even level 200 when carded correctly. Keep in mind, the Grace Set are character bound so be prepared to desocket them if you need the cards back. You main focus is to upgrade your weapon to keep up with the mobs. Hopefully at this point, you made some considerable amount of zeny (200mil or so). If not, continue daily farming of quests from 17.1 and instances such as OGH. You need to grind zeny until you can buy a better weapon. You can view the zeny guide if you need ideas to make zeny.

At 170, the Temporal Circlet and Bio5 headgears become available which are powerful headgears that can be enchanted.

Your focus on the order of upgrades should be:

  1. Weapon - Patent Weapons, Einbech 3 Weapons, Bioresearch Laboratory Weapons
  2. Grace Set cards - Build Specific
  3. Accessories - Illusion Booster, King Schmidt's Insignias
  4. Shadow Equipment - Build Specific
  5. Grace Set Replacement Gears such as Temporal Boots and Temporal Manteau combo with Automatic Illusion Armor enchants
  6. Costume Enchants (Really expensive) - Build Specific
  7. Shadow Equipment Enchants - Build Specific
